Kim Kardashian creates reality show about public relations
by admin on Aug.28, 2009, under Public Relations

Kim Kardashian is currently producing a reality TV show focusing on PR.
Is there anything Kim Kardashian isn’t doing? Actually, the better question is, what reality show is she not involved with? Access Hollywood is reporting that Ms. Kardashian is creating and producing a new reality show about working in public relations.
The show’s premise is to show the ins-and-outs of the corporate PR world (rather than representation of individuals) – sort of like all the other reality shows about the world of fashion magazines. It is reported that the pilot has already been shot and that it features PR “gurus” and friends of Kardashian, Jonathan Cheban and Simon Huck of Command Public Relations. Kardashian and some of her celeb friends will make appearances throughout the season.
Aside from the cued groans of the fact that this PR show is being produced by Kardashian (ready, and *groan*), it is kind of refreshing to see a show produced focusing on the PR industry. Over the past years, much of the reality shows have focused on magazines and publishing (i.e. Stylista for Elle, Running in Heels for Marie Claire). While people have a general idea of what PR entails, perhaps the show can give a better visual of how rigorous the industry is. Hopefully this show will be produced in a manner to show how vital PR is in terms of promotion, publicity and overall, running a successful business. Except, it probably won’t because hey, we need interesting television – and god forbid that actual reality is appealing.

Premiere of The Used’s new video for their first single “Blood on My Hands” from their upcoming album “Artwork”

In preparation for their upcoming album release, Artwork, the Utah-based alt-rock band The Used had premiered their new music video for “Blood on My Hands” – the first single off the album.
A lot has changed since the last studio album from The Used – in fact, it is their first studio album not produced by John Feldman, who’s worked with them on all their other albums in the past. Their reasoning? They want this album to be different from any other album that they’ve released. Frontman Bert McCracken said in AP magazine about the change: “In the past, we’ve always kind of brought pop sensibility into heavy rock, but this is going to be all that much more tantalizing and brutal. Our songs are 10 times messier and noisier than they’ve ever been.”
And sure enough, tantalizing and brutal are the key themes in the new video for “Blood on My Hands” – but fear not, it is exactly what the band wants! Bert explains, “The basic concept of the video is about a creepy child molesting serial killer who’s brutalizing this small American town and I get really obsessed with the serial killer and take the law into my own hands, hunt him down, and brutally murder him. Then I get caught by the police and convicted for all of the crimes that he’s committed, and they hang me.”
Check out the new video below, fresh off the cutting floor. Artwork is to be released on September 1st, 2009.
