What’s happening in this week Billboard Top Ten?

Rihanna tops the charts on the Billboard Top 100 for the third week in a row with the sulfurous, catchy song “Rude Boy”.  In recent news, she has now posted the most Hot 100 top 10s by a female artist since the beginning of the last decade. Atlanta- based rapper B.O.B  jumps to the  number 2 spot with the song “Nothing On You” featuring Bruno Mars. Alternative Rock band Train are listed as number 3 with the song “Hey Soul Sister” – their highest charting song to date and their biggest commercial success.

Grammy winners Lady Antebellum maintain their spot in the top 5, ranked this week at number 4 with their enjoyable slice of Pop-Country “Need You Now”, they were previously holding the runner-up slot for the past two weeks.

Pop superstar Lady Gaga inks the number 5 spot with her hit song “Telephone” featuring Beyonce. Her controversial video for the song had the internet going crazy these past weeks! British newcomer Taio Cruz is listed number 6 this week with the dance/ club banger “Break Your heart” featuring Rap artist Ludacris. International pop superstars Black Eyed Peas and their hit song “Imma Be” still hold on to the top 10, listed at the 7 spot on the charts. Premiere of The Used’s new video for their first single “Blood on My Hands” from their upcoming album “Artwork”

In preparation for their upcoming album release, Artwork, the Utah-based alt-rock band The Used had premiered their new music video for “Blood on My Hands” – the first single off the album.

A lot has changed since the last studio album from The Used – in fact, it is their first studio album not produced by John Feldman, who’s worked with them on all their other albums in the past. Their reasoning? They want this album to be different from any other album that they’ve released. Frontman Bert McCracken said in AP magazine about the change: “In the past, we’ve always kind of brought pop sensibility into heavy rock, but this is going to be all that much more tantalizing and brutal. Our songs are 10 times messier and noisier than they’ve ever been.”

And sure enough, tantalizing and brutal are the key themes in the new video for “Blood on My Hands” – but fear not, it is exactly what the band wants! Bert explains, “The basic concept of the video is about a creepy child molesting serial killer who’s brutalizing this small American town and I get really obsessed with the serial killer and take the law into my own hands, hunt him down, and brutally murder him.  Then I get caught by the police and convicted for all of the crimes that he’s committed, and they hang me.”

Check out the new video below, fresh off the cutting floor. Artwork is to be released on September 1st, 2009.
